Seungri is a member of BIGBANG (like T.O.P), and is the youngest and secondary vocals. Should we get some facts out then?

Name: Lee Seung-hyun (yes, the same first name as T.O.P)

Date of birth: 12^th December 1990

Height: 176 cm (right around 5'9")

Position in band: Secondary vocals, maknae

Other names: Seungri, Victory (‘seungri’ literally translates from Korean into ‘victory’), V.I, Panda, Baby

I don’t really know for sure, but from Seungri’s personality it’s safe to say he was spoiled as a kid. His mom was a real-estate agent. Actually, his story of joining BIGBANG is pretty interesting. After YG decided the first four members of BIGBANG, they decided they wanted some more. So they brought in Seungri, as well as our beautiful Hyunseung (he’s currently a member of BEAST, with Dongwoon). Eventually they cut both of them, but while Hyunseung left quietly, Seungri kept coming back. The YG CEO decided he liked Seungri’s perseverance and he got in. It was a little sad, really, for Hyunseung, as he’d been seen as the frontrunner, and Seungri’d actually been cut before, but the YG CEO really liked Seungri, so he brought him back.

Seungri is BIGBANG’s third vocalist, after Taeyang and Daesung, and his voice is really sweet. It has a much softer quality to it than the others’, and it really adds a new dimension to their songs. Seungri’s also released a solo mini-album that got #1, and he wrote or composed most of the songs on it.

Ah… what to say about Seungri’s personality? Some say Seungri’s a little selfish. That’s he’s childish, he’s thoughtless, and he has no sensitivity. That he loves money and fame. His fans say, yeah, he is a little childish, but that adds to his cuteness. He loves the BIGBANG members beyond anything and everything, and he’s really honest and doesn’t hide anything about himself. As a really, really big fan of Seungri, I’d say they’re all right. He loves himself a lot, but he loves the members just as much. He has a ton of haters, but his fans are ready to fight off anyone to protect him.

Seungri is maknae (youngest in his band), but possibly the most unique maknae ever. In Korea, respect is a really big thing. You don’t call people older than you simply by name, you have to add a hyung, or sunbae, or at least a ssi. (See the post on meanings of common Korean words) Seungri… doesn’t. He calls his hyungs by name when they’re not around, and it can be really difficult to control him. I guess his hyungs might be partly to blame for that, as it’s apparent that while they do come down harshly on him when he says or does dumb stuff, they do spoil him a bit– especially G-Dragon. G-Dragon and Seungri… they really do love each other.

When he joined BIGBANG, Seungri was fifteen. Generally all the fans saw him as the cute maknae, with those natural dark-circles earning him the nickname ‘panda’. Seungri though, didn’t want that image, so when he released his mini-album, he made an MV that showed off his super-perfect abs and some rather un-family-friendly scenes (in Strong Baby). Still didn’t seem to be enough. So for BIGBANG’s latest album Alive (a wonderful, wonderful album, you should so buy it), he cut off most of his hair in the ‘Spock’ hairstyle he sported for quite a while. He’s growing his hair out again, and he looks fantastic.

Seungri is also the K-Pop industry scandal poster-boy. K-Pop idols are generally very careful about their image– they even date in secret, and rumours of dating are called ‘scandals’ *roll eyes*. BIGBANG aren’t really your usual K-Pop group, but Seungri’s scandals are… wow. In short, Seungri had a one-night stand with some chick, who went on to spill secrets. Dirty secrets. It appears Seungri’s into kink– especially choking? Yeah, it was a really big scandal.

Actually, personally, I don’t mind. I kind of think it’s hot, though that may be simply because I am a big fan, and I am interested in those sorts of things. I’m a little confused, to be honest. Seungri’s always telling the other members to slap him if they’re frustrated with him (especially T.O.P, who genuinely seems to enjoy slapping him). So he’s an S and an M? Or am I just mixing unrelated stuff up?
